Burnout 2: Retirement

Work Life

Hey, Reddit. Thanks for being so supportive on my burnout post, I was in pretty rough shape. Bought new gear that improves my flow.

I still want to have an early, cop-level retirement. I currently have (basically) nothing but am building now.

I will not open a barbershop due to this place I'm at now being at an apartment complex where it's all for convenience, nobody will follow me. We are overbooked up to a month in advance and it's hard getting people who I enjoy cutting/would like to cut in my chair. I will not slave overnight like the owner does. I have a schedule for a reason. Social media is not the ideal route. I refuse to take away another 3 years building an all new consumer base in this field.

I am opening a Facebook/eBay marketplace to do what I really like, game/comic/toy/music shop. I have storage/archives I'm ready to list and the barber money now fuels that. I feel like a clown here and can't wait to get out of this occupation. There's no room for comfort. I'm hoping to have a shop someday where I can interact with the people I enjoy being around.

Anyone have any experience with early retirement and where to take yourself? Some of you had some cool ideas in the prior post!

Thanks again.
