Oversized material

Noob question and I'll say I'm aware of the conveyor for the S1, but is there an alternative way to engrave material with the front and/or rear doors open? I understand the safety concerns, but in a proper environment it seems like it would be pretty harmless to bypass. Has anyone done it?
