I have trouble forming a lasting romantic connection with women

Dating / Sex / Relationships (FRIDAY ONLY)

Now, this post might not be about what some would assume from the title. I am not saying that women don't like me, or that I don't like women, it's more so that I can meet someone who I get along with amazingly - We share jokes, we tease eachother, we laugh, talk deeper stuff, and other general things that I'd like to have in a romantic relationship. But yet, I don't feel the romantic spark.
It usually goes like this: I meet someone, I get to know them, I find them attractive initially and invite them for a private activity, once we are out I lose that initial attraction after a while and view the woman more as a friend, and we move on as such afterwards.
The only problem I have is that I have strong desire to love and be loved, but I am "robbed" of this because the described scenario keeps happening. I'm happy to make new friends, but I also want to meet someone that can be more than friends...
Can anyone relate? Why does this happen? Am I just that picky without knowing about it?
