Another question for white people who are 3rd, 4th, 5th generation American

Removed: Loaded Question III

So I was researching the murder of a black woman named Mary Turner from Georgia, she protested the murder of her husband, and was subsequently hanged upside down, set on fire, and shot multiple times. Also she was 8 months pregnant, so they cut her baby out of her stomach and stomped the fetus to death. No one from the very large mob was ever arrested. This was not uncommon by any means for the time.

Since this took place so recently, 1918, a little over 100 years ago, I KNOW these inhuman murderers procreated and have their offspring running around to this day. Racism isn’t quite as overt these days, so it’s harder to tell who’s who in plain sight. My question is, do you know if your family ever had a history of participating in these types of acts? Do you know anyone in your circles who have? Grand parents/ great grand parents, etc? What was it like growing up under this type of influence? Additionally, do you have guilt? Anger? Do you educate yourselves on the true history of this country? Do you do anything to give back?

Just curious!
