Trendforce: Memory Rally Extends as ADATA Reportedly Sees Q3 DRAM Prices Up 20-30%, NAND Up 35-40%
Memory pricing is expected to extend its rally amid surging AI demand. Citing ADATA Chairman Simon Chen, Taiwan’s Economic Daily News and Commercial Times report that memory makers have notified customers of another 20%-30% increase in DRAM contract prices for Q3, while NAND Flash contract prices are set to climb 35%-40%.
The outlook broadly aligns with TrendForce‘s forecast, which projects DRAM contract prices to rise another 13%-18% in the third quarter, while NAND Flash contract prices are expected to increase 10%-15% QoQ.
ADATA is a big consumer memory module manufacturer that buy massive amounts of DRAM and NAND chips from Micron and their CEO in their recent earnings mentioned there's further price increases coming.
They also mentrioned that allocation towards memory capacity for general-purpose DRAM and consumer NAND Flash used in SSDs will continue to fall, further stressing this market - both memory and SSDs will continue to be more limited in 2027.
