PSA Insurance companies in MA are required to offer you a 12-month term if you want, seems like they use shady tactics to hide it
I usually go through an independent agent but I also check rates manually to verify they are actually giving me the best rates instead of taking kickbacks and keeping me paying more. Plymouth Rock from what I can see seems to be using very dark UX patterns as the website only offers a 6 month option.
No indication that they ever sell a 12 month policy. If you call in, they will tell you "they only do 6 months in this service area" and apologize. You need to explicitly mention that in MA by law, they are supposed to offer a 12 month term and then they put you on hold and then, hey would you look at that? A 12 month option appears.
So this is a PSA in case anyone else is shopping around for car insurance and aren't aware, the key is that you need to ask for it. Here's a link to the Massachusetts Consumer Bill of Rights where they call this out:
Every insurance company that agrees to offer you a policy must provide a policy with a one-year term if you ask for it.
