Real reviews or advertising?
I'm about to trade in my 2014 Honda CR-V. It's been great, but it already has 150,000 kilometers, and I feel like it's time to look for something newer (and I'd like it to be a hybrid).
Since I went on a couple of websites to check car prices, the algorithm decided I was in the market and ONLY shows me car ads, YouTube videos, and Instagram posts (the typical information bombardment is overwhelming).
I started by looking for a more traditional (Japanese) brand, which, due to the prices, are out of my budget unless they're used cars that are 2 or 3 years old (maybe a little more). But the advertising machine is hitting me so hard with Chinese cars that I'm starting to reconsider whether I'm wrong and there really has been a big change lately (especially in hybrids/electric vehicles). And actually, the biggest brands, BYD and Geely, have nothing to envy in the rest of the industry these days (in fact, they're even better).
All the reviews are amazing, to the point that the car has absolutely nothing wrong with it (which is rare, since cars always seem to have some issue that could be improved).
Am I just seeing influencers trying to change my mind, or are the reviews genuine and have the cars actually improved?
