I think I want to get top/bottom surgery but I'm scared.

I've been thinking of surgery a lot lately. I think I for sure want to get top surgery but I'm still unsure about bottom surgery. Like I think I want to get bottom surgery (metoidioplasty) but I'm afraid what if something terrible goes wrong or I regret it and I can't go back to my old body, you know? So, I'm curious: How often does trans bottom surgery (specifically, ftm metoidioplasty) go wrong? And does it hurt (how much)? And (for anyone here, not just trans men) have you ever found any type of trans surgery regrettable? I just need to know before I go all in. I really don't want to end up making a big mistake that will impact me for the whole rest of my life. I wish you could just snap and try out a different body for a day and if you don't like it go back to your old body. However, it just doesn't work like that in real life :(

Anyone got any advice or stories you want to share? Please, Googling it isn't enough and I don't have any trans friends/family. Thanks.
