🕊️ I’ll say it… Peacemaker might be the best DC adaptation we’ve had.
I knew it would be fun and over-the-top—but it ended up being something much deeper. Yes, it’s packed with action and humour, but what really stands out is how much it focuses on character and emotion.
At the centre is Peacemaker, played by John Cena. He starts off as this loud, confident figure who thinks he’s always right… but as the series goes on, you begin to see the vulnerability underneath. The show takes its time to explore that, and it genuinely pays off.
Then there’s Emilia Harcourt, played by Jennifer Holland. She brings a completely different energy—calm, sharp, and grounded—and the way her relationship with Peacemaker evolves feels natural and earned.
One scene that really stayed with me is when Peacemaker is in his trailer, playing piano on his own. No big action, no jokes—just him, reflecting. It completely changes how you see the character. In that moment, he’s not trying to impress anyone or prove anything… he’s just human. That’s the kind of depth I didn’t expect, and it’s what makes the show stand out.
Compared to other DC projects, this feels more confident. It knows exactly what it wants to be—mixing humour, action, and real character development without losing its identity.
So that's why… it’s the one I keep going back to.
