Teacher to MBA
Hi everyone!
I've been reading through this group, and it's been so encouraging to see everyone's success stories. I'm currently a special education teacher, and I've been seriously considering pursuing my MBA through WGU to transition into a new career.
Starting something completely different feels a little intimidating, especially because I've always told myself that I'm "not a math person." I know that's a mindset I need to change, but I have to admit that the math side of an MBA is what worries me the most. I don't have any background in statistics, Excel, accounting, finance, or really any of the business-related subjects.
Has anyone else started the WGU MBA program from scratch with little to no business background? Were you able to learn everything as you went, or did you take any preparatory classes beforehand?
I've read through several posts about the courses and have seen that there are lots of great study guides and tips, which is reassuring. I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who started in a similar position and can share what their experience was like.
Thank you!
