BHIM app issues

I was facing a number of issues with Bhim app so as a last resort I deleted account, uninstalled and reinstalled it. Perhaps stupidly extreme I know. But now am just unable to reregister. Constantly getting Failed to Register error and Too many attempts, try after xx hours. But when I retry same thing. Contacted NPCI on X but no use so far.

Can anyone advise on troubleshooting? TIA 🙏🏽
