Money, title or brand?

HENRY Careers

Looking for some career advice.
I’m currently a Senior Manager (L6) at Accenture UK. My compensation is around £105k base, with annual bonuses typically between £10k–25k. Based on where I am in the firm, making Managing Director within the next couple of years is a realistic possibility.

That said, I’m becoming increasingly uncertain about consulting as a whole. AI is changing the industry quickly, and I’m questioning what the long-term outlook looks like. I’ve also always wanted to work for a product company rather than a consultancy.

I’ve received an offer from Google. The role is L5, which feels like a step down in seniority to me. It’s an individual contributor position with no people management or real leadership responsibilities—more of a specialist/“worker bee” role.
The compensation is attractive though: ~£115k base 40–50% bonus tied to performance/KPIs
£150k RSUs vesting over 4 years, with around 40% vesting in year one. Total first-year compensation is a little over £200k
On paper, the money is significantly better, and having Google on my CV could open doors to other product companies in the future. On the other hand, I’d be giving up a leadership trajectory and a realistic shot at becoming an MD.
If you were in my position, what would you do? Has anyone made a similar move from consulting into Big Tech? Any regrets?
