Has the manufacturing quality of the UB820 dropped?

When you look at the recent reviews on Amazon for the UB820 there are quite a bit of 1 star reviews where the player stopped reading discs not long after purchase or was dead on arrival and wouldn’t read discs from day one. Couple that with most of the UB820 I see on eBay that are being sold for “parts not working” seem to be units that are 2024/25.

Did they change where they are manufactured or where they source parts for the player etc? Curious if anyone else has made the same
Observation or has the player had quality control issues from the jump?
