Any ethical rep options or no?

Hi everyone I have never bought a rep before except when I was a teenager at a market in Italy, but I have been wondering if there are ethical options for reps? Do we know how they are made? I understand that probably most sources are very unethical, but are there any that are okay? In my mind I would be happy to buy one from a seller who makes good quality bags on their own, but does that exist?
Otherwise I am so curious to learn more about this and what peopleʻs opinions are about this.
