Trying to Figure Out Who To Talk To/What To Do With Fidelity Account

Investing

I am a state employee who could choose among a 401 (a), a 401 (k), or a Defined Benefit Contribution Plan (Pension). I opted for the 401a because I do not see myself hanging out here for 32 years/didn't want that hanging over me since you get the best bang for the later years you are here.

I followed the Fidelity guide and, when starting my job, chose the TCP Retire 2055C since it was one of about 1,000 decisions I had to make upon arrival and while setting up my org.

Now that I have been here for 6 years, I am leaning towards taking a more active approach to managing, given the 11.42% YTD return and 22.52% 1-year return.

Super lucky that we are required to contribute 7% of our before-tax payroll, and the state matches 100%.

I look at some of the other non-date-specific funds, and they are delivering better returns but, critically, also lower administration fees.

I should take a more proactive approach to addressing and saving for retirement, but I am not sure where I should start. I know there is a once-a-year time I can connect with someone from Fidelity, but it feels like there should be someone else I can connect with to discuss some of these things.
