Trouble with the app after creating an account

As the title suggests, I opened up an account on Tinder, but I get to the import contact section and then the whole app freezes and even if I avoid that step, it keeps telling me there is trouble connecting and to try again, and therefore I am unable to add any pictures. I’m unable to see people within my radius or even beyond my radius, so I’m not quite sure what the problem is.
