Panicking- Emergency Cerclage
I’m 34yo, 22 weeks, O negative blood type, and on my third baby. First two pregnancies no issues. I went to labor and delivery 3 days ago for spotting and backache with cramping thinking it was due to my blood type and that I just needed rhogam shot which has happened both pregnancies. They ended up discovering that I was 2cm dilated and had membranes hanging out and needed an emergency cerclage. It was so scary but I ended up having the operation day before yesterday and it went well. The surgeons only concern is that my bag touched my vagina which can cause infection but they ran antibiotics through me and I feel fine. They also said that by operation time I was already 3cm dilated so it was increasing. The day of the cerclage I had some pink spotting and minor pink discharge. Yesterday it was more brownish and less. They sent me home last night and today i have bright red spotting/discharge about the size of a baby carrot. Ugh this is so stressful I don’t know if this is normal I’m so scared I’m going to lose my baby. I’m on full bed rest I called my OB she seemed hesitant but said if it picks up any more than that then to go in for an exam. My only symptoms now are a slightly sore lower back not too bad but I don’t think I have any cramping. Any thoughts/advice/words of encouragement? Would love to hear from anyone who’s been through something similar
