Walkable / Hopping Areas

Hi everyone! I am planning to move to San Diego in August. I am someone who enjoys walking/biking and browsing different cafes/small businesses and would love to just understand where are the best walkable/hopping neighborhoods in the city? Even if there are little pockets of hidden gems I would to know that too!
