Good beach for dog

I’m on the south shore but I’d actually prefer a north shore beach for this. Never took my guy by the beach and I think the nice calm water and less soft sand might work better too. Just looking to find a good beach to walk with the dog and maybe bring a longer leash, see if he takes any interest getting into the water at all.
