What have the family dynamics taught you about the islanders?

OPINION

Obviously meeting family tells you a lot about a person and the dynamic that raised them. Often like a mirror to core parts of people

Zac -
learning that he was pretty much Charlie’s shadow all his life. even previously alluding to having no friends. i feel like he’s soaked up this experience in the most golden retriever way, as a fulfilling peak moment, even in his social life. i’ve never gotten the impression that he was serious about any romance fr, just making a name for himself outside Charlie’s shadow

Aniya -
her mom is strict af lmao. “stop crying, you’re gonna make me mad”?? i get a feeling that there’s a pressure of conduct in the dynamic. which explains why Aniya has more comfort if seriousness, void of laughter and emotion. perhaps the recoupling after casa was a general release of emotions for her. but the guidance and “coaching” is seemingly needed, “mama harvey is always right”. but it makes me wonder if this need for guidance explains why she only ever mirrors and parrots everyone else

edit: also seeing how Aniya’s mom reacted to her crying could explain why she wasn’t able to be the supportive friend when Melanie needed it
