Best way to use my preparatory leave as a 3rd year MBBS student
Hey! I just finished my 3rd year, 3rd internal exams and I have about 1.5 months of preparatory leave before my university exams. I only have two subjects to study, so I’ll have quite a bit of free time every day.
I’m a 3rd-year MBBS student and I don’t want to waste this time scrolling on my phone. My goal is to prepare for the USMLE, make 4th year easier, and build a strong CV for residency in the future.
The only catch is that I can’t afford paid resources like UWorld, Amboss, or expensive courses, so everything has to be free.
If you were in my position, how would you spend these 1.5 months? What skills should I learn, what should I study, and what resources should I use? I’m looking for things that will actually give me an advantage in the long run whether that’s USMLE prep, research, medical writing, clinical skills, AI tools for medicine, PubMed, statistics, or anything else worth learning.
I’d love a practical week-by-week plan with free resources, YouTube channels, websites, and a realistic daily schedule. Basically, I want to make the most of this time instead of letting it go to waste.
