How do you make SSO work with PWA apps?

I have been building an internal tool at my work, but my IT team is insisting that I implement SSO. I have been reading a lot online that SSOs are great for browser-based tools, but the moment you start using it for PWAs, especially on iPhone, it breaks and the session does not hold. Is that true? Has anybody done it?
