IDL "eat healthier" sounds simple until real life gets involved
I do not like how “just eat healthier” has become such a SIMPLE ANSWER to a complicated problem.
I have seen people make healthy meals with very little money, and honestly, I respect the creativity it takes. It can be done.
But sometimes I think we skip over what the process actually requires. One person has time after work to compare prices, cook a few meals, and plan ahead. Another person gets home late, has other responsibilities waiting, and grabs whatever is easiest because that is what they have energy for.
Neither person is necessarily making a better or worse choice. They are just starting from different places.
We often talk about healthy eating like it is only a discipline issue, when sometimes the hardest part is having enough time, money, and mental space to keep doing it.
The thing that bothers me most is when people start blaming themselves for not keeping up with something that was never equally easy for everyone.
