Two ways to win Spell Royale: go big, or go fast βοΈ
There are two schools of thought in Spell Royale, and both can take the crown. Which one are you?
π― The Sniper: big words, slowly
Length is everything. The word-length multiplier is brutal:
| Letters | Multiplier |
|---|---|
| 3 | Γ1 |
| 4 | Γ2 |
| 5 | Γ3 |
| 6 | Γ4 |
| 7+ | Γ5 |
A single 7-letter word can outscore five 3-letter words combined. Snipers ignore the easy points, hunt the board, and drop bombs. The catch: while you're staring down the board hunting for QUIZZED, the cutoff skull is creeping toward your score. Sit too long and you're eliminated before your masterpiece ever lands.
Best when: you've got a juicy board, you're comfortably above the cut line, and it's late-game where one big word vaults you to #1.
β‘ The Machine Gun: small words, fast
Forget the perfect word. See CAT, play CAT. See RAT, play RAT. Each one's worth a little, but you never stop moving β so your score climbs steadily and the skull can't catch a moving target. You won't top the board on any single word, but you'll almost never get cut early either.
Best when: the lobby's crowded, the cuts are coming quick, and pure survival is the game.
The meta
Most winners do both. Run the Machine Gun early to coast through the first cuts while the lobby thins out; then, once you've built a cushion and you're in the final stretch, flip to Sniper mode and drop a bomb or two to steal the win.
And if you're stuck with a board full of consonants? Spend 3 gold to buy the letter you need and keep the run alive.
So which are you> Surgeon, or spray-and-pray? π
