Interfacing (hacking) an ESP32 to wireless tow lights ?

Wireless towing lights usually operate on a 2.4GHz link between the transmitter and the receiver.

I would like to control a set of wireless towing lights with an ESP32. How would one set up an ESP32 to listen in on the communications between the wireless towing light transmitter and the receiver, built into the lights themselves ?
