How can I help my partner reach orgasm more consistently?

NSFW

M27 and I don’t have a lot of sexual experience. I’ve recently started seeing a woman who seems to have a high sex drive, and I want to understand better how to help her reach orgasm instead of just guessing.

The last time we had sex, there were moments when she clearly wanted me to keep going, but I wasn’t sure whether I should maintain exactly the same rhythm, change the intensity, or continue for much longer. She enjoyed what I was doing, but she still didn’t orgasm, and I’m trying to understand what I may have been missing.

I was also feeling too much in a particular position so I let her move instead of me because I didn’t want to finish early. I should have changed position here. As I didn’t move (she was above) I think she went tired and then she didn’t want more. She felt frustrated and she seemed upset, I asked her and in fact she was frustrated and a bit upset for no reaching the orgasm. She asked me to leave her house and she even wanted to kiss me to say goodbye.

I interpreted this as rejection and I felt humiliated and sad. I didn’t text her back, and after 2 days she reached may saying that she wants to see me. It could be that I overinterpred what happened or not, but woman’s orgasm and pleasure seems to be a very deep and complex thing.

I know this is in part also of my poor performance, this one in particular, in other times we have been like 3 hours total including foreplay but no orgasms however. I know every woman is different, but I’d really appreciate practical answers to these three questions:

  1. How much foreplay do you usually need before direct clitoral stimulation or penetration?
  2. When you say “keep going,” do you usually mean the exact same speed, pressure and movement, and for roughly how long?
  3. What tends to matter most for reaching orgasm: clitoral stimulation, penetration, rhythm, pressure, speed, or some combination?

I’m mainly looking for practical advice from women about what usually helps and what commonly interrupts the buildup.
