Good StoryPeer reviews and 7/10 on The Black List - what next?
My script originally received a 7/10 on the Black List. I then completed a substantial rewrite based on the evaluation. I also submitted the new draft to two different reviewers on StoryPeer just to get more eyes on it, and it received 4/5 and 4.5/5.
I know Story Peer is entirely peer-to-peer, while the Black List uses professional industry readers, so the scores are not directly comparable. But the positives are pretty consistent across reviews.
At this point, should I take the plunge and pay for another Black List evaluation to see whether the rewrite has pushed it into 8 territory? Or would should I seek more peer feedback or paid coverage first?
NB: Black List has been VERY hit-and-miss for me (7/10 on another script followed by a 4 after heavy revisions). I'm not a huge fan of the site but it's okay for getting your feet in the door. At this point I just want to get representation first and Black List is a good way of getting some attention.
