Is it normal for people from a server you left to follow you to the current server you are in ?

I won't get much into detail a friend of mine told me that just now he was playing on 2fort casual and some people were being not good people so he did a votekick but he did not know how to do an anonimous votekick which got the two people mad so my friend left.

they somehow followed him into another server and started bullying him and even found his instagram and pasted it in chat.

I just wanna know how did they even find him in another server and if my friend is safe or not. Also just pointing out that the player that did was had the user name Dee and his pfp was spy but drawn in the excuse me sir meme
