Are these ultrasound kidney findings typical for kidney cancer
19M, 185 cm, 72 kg. English is not my first language. I didn't have any symptoms except lower back pain for the last 1.5 months before a lump appeared above my left clavicle 5 days ago.
Today's ultrasound showed:
The left kidney measured 113x53 mm and had a well-defined but lobulated contour with a diffusely heterogeneous structure. Parenchymal thickness was 14 mm. The collecting system was not visualized. There were cavitary lesions measuring 21x27 mm and 53x35 mm, and normal renal pelvis tissue could not be identified.
The liver, spleen, pancreas, and right kidney were normal.
The conclusion of the ultrasound report mentioned a suspicion of renal cancer with metastases, but this was based only on imaging findings and no biopsy or CT confirmation has been done yet.
There was also a solid para-aortic/paravertebral mass measuring 104x37 mm. It was described as irregular in shape, extraperitoneal, non-mobile, and without increased blood flow on Doppler.
Blood tests showed WBC 10.96x10^9/L, elevated neutrophils (8.12x10^9/L), elevated monocytes (1.53x10^9/L), ESR 28 mm/h, while hemoglobin and platelet counts were normal.
Ultrasound of the neck showed a left supraclavicular mass measuring 40x23x35 mm. It was described as a solid lesion with a 14 × 7 mm anechoic component medially, increased blood flow on Doppler (peak systolic velocity 20.1 cm/s), and a well-defined capsule. The remaining cervical lymph nodes and the thyroid gland appeared normal.
Chest X-ray showed a 19 mm rounded lesion in segment S8 of the left lung.
A biopsy of the supraclavicular mass has already been performed, and I am currently waiting for the results.
My question is whether the fact that the left kidney is not enlarged and that no discrete mass originating from the kidney was identified makes primary kidney cancer less likely. Could this pattern instead be more consistent with something else?
