GFCI Question
I’ve been looking up code as well as recommendations for GFCI outlets, and I keep getting conflicting answers. Several people cite the most recent NEC requirements that GFCI outlets be installed in ANY location where water is present, including kitchens.
This makes sense, but also one of the most popular recommendations is to NEVER plug a microwave into a GFCI. Literally dozens of articles and YouTube videos come up saying not to do it.
My question is, what do y’all think? If GFCI is required in the kitchen, you’re going to have to plug a microwave in eventually, right? Or does plugging it in, say, downstream of the GFCI not count? Let me know please, I’m super confused..
