This show is so unfair to Clark

I'm only on Season 4 and just finished the episode where Lionel and Clark switched places but it's just like the red kryptonite again. Everyone else in this show has had their personality changed by something weird and they are forgiven. There's a literal wall of weird. But when Clark acts strange it's just Clark. Chloe starts fawning over Clark there's something wrong with her. Clark starts acting like a pompous ass, oh yeah that's just clark.
