How do you regain trust in your own perception?

When I was in the middle of a full-blown episode, nobody could get through to me anymore. I was completely consumed by my delusional beliefs and all kinds of "ideas." After going through three episodes in my life, I've had enough.

I take my medication regularly, make sure I get enough sleep, and try to stay socially engaged. Even so, I still struggle to find genuine joy in anything.

And once you've experienced a psychotic episode, how do you know that what you see, hear, taste, smell, and feel is actually real? You start doubting your own senses, constantly fearing that another episode could break out, and that leaves you feeling deeply insecure.

On top of that, you keep your diagnosis a secret. But that can't be all there is to life. Everyone wants to see themselves as a whole, worthwhile person—even with their own "handicap". Someone has thoughts to this?
