Persistence Win

DISCUSSION

Had a fun experience I wanted to share. Went to a PYAM supervisor station in Pyro. Had been learning how to get through these for last few days. Cutlass Red, parked it above hangar protected by the rocks. I moved to the back of the ship, set my respawn to the ship and get went EVA. Turrets started firing at my ship, apparently I didn't pick a good hiding spot!

I couldn't get back in time to move it, the turrets killed it. Normally there were other players ship around I might be able to steel. Not this time...

So I floated into the station expectign to die again and just respawn at my home world. But I didn't die. I got through all the enemies without issue, and found loot boxes. I'd never found loot boxes in here before! I found plasma grenades, 5 compboards, and eventually got the key card and left. I'm EVA'ng outside the station looking for ships, no luck.

I eva'd around the rock trying to find a safe spot where i could meet someone in a ship. Asked for help but no one responded. I was considering backspacing but I wasn't sure my body would stay. So I took my helmet off. Died. Respawned in Area 18. I got into a cutlass red again and headed to Pyro gateway. I expected to get there and there would be no body. I considered dropping the items in space so even if the body was got the items might still be there. I decided to just keep everything on my person. So imagine my surprise that the stanton to pyro wormhole worked! (needed multiple times for me last few times)

i flew to the Supervisor station and my body was there! I flew around the rock into the little area that I'd hoped was protected, and it was! I got my ship in the right spot then went to the rear ramp and used my maxlift tractor to pull the body in. I collected everything off the body I could and flew back to Orbituary. Landed successfully and dumped the items into my station inventory!

This game can be a lot of fun when things work. I've seen so many things break that would have affected this mission but in this case everything worked. Here's hoping we see the game work more consistently in the future.
