Did you regret waiting to start TTC?
My husband (30M) and I (29F) we’ll both be turning 30 and 31 next month.
I’m feeling ready to start trying for a baby, but my husband would prefer to wait until we’re in a slightly better financial position and have bought a house, which is fair I know. However, We’re currently getting pre-approved and starting our house search, but personally, I wouldn’t mind being pregnant during that process if it happened & our finances arnt terrible.
One thing that’s been on my mind is that I know no one can predict how long it will take to conceive. I realize some couples get pregnant right away, while for others it can take much longer or involve unexpected challenges. My husband seems to think we’ll get pregnant quickly once we decide to try, whereas I feel like it could take several months or longer, and that makes me hesitant to put off trying.
I completely understand that having a baby is a two person decision, and I don’t want to pressure him into something he’s not ready for. We just seem to have different expectations about the timeline, and I’m struggling with whether waiting a little longer is the right choice.
Has anyone else been in this situation where you and your partner weren’t quite on the same page about when to start trying? How did you navigate that conversation? Looking back, do you wish you’d started earlier, waited longer, or did things work out differently than you expected?
I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences!
