⚠️ Awareness Post: Don't Confuse Popularity with Spiritual Authenticity ⚠️
In today's social media era, everyone seems to have become a "Tantric," "Guru," or "Siddha." Podcasts, YouTube channels, Instagram reels, and viral interviews have turned Tantra into a trending topic. But popularity is not proof of realization, and a large following is not proof of spiritual authority.
Anyone can read books, memorize scriptures, quote Sanskrit verses, and speak confidently in front of a camera. That doesn't automatically mean they have genuine spiritual attainment. Before accepting anyone as your guru, ask simple questions: Who is their Guru? What is their lineage (Paramparā)? How do they live? What is their character?
Be cautious of any group that expects blind faith instead of thoughtful questioning. If every criticism is treated as an attack, if followers become aggressive whenever someone asks genuine questions, or if the guru is presented as someone who is beyond all criticism, take that as a reason to pause and think.
Don't be impressed because their followers include doctors, lawyers, businessmen, corporate executives, or other successful professionals. Education, wealth, and social status do not prove that a spiritual teacher or organization is authentic.
Traditional Tantra has long been understood as a Kulamukhi Vidya—a sacred lineage-based path passed responsibly from a qualified Guru to a deserving disciple. It is not something that can be measured by subscriber counts, viral podcasts, or Instagram followers.
Never choose a guru simply because you saw them online. Observe, verify, research their lineage, and use your own judgment. A true spiritual path encourages humility, discipline, and inner transformation—not personality worship or blind dependence.
Question. Verify. Think. In spirituality, faith should walk hand in hand with discernment.
