Am I crazy or just bad? Seems extremely hard to hit without the ball marker. (BYB 2026)

I'm a veteran to BYB but it just seems to be almost impossible to hit without the ball marker (specifically on the Left/Right Hook pitches. It feels like I'm on top of the pitch but it's almost always a swinging strike. Am I crazy or just bad?
