HS under control...
...Because it turns out I was a diabetic. Oops. So, last year I was dealing with 7 different painful lumps on my lower lady regions -and it had not been improving at all. Every week new ones would form, some would burst, etc. I did not know a day of peace.
Until I was hospitalized with an A1C of 12.9 (which is a stupidly high average blood sugar level). Discovered I was indeed a diabetic and went through a week of blood tests and diabetes management things with a nutritionist and specialist.
Ever since cutting sugar from my diet, being on insulin and metformin, eating just a bit healthier and managing my diabetes, my HS has essentially not been an issue.
In the past 9 months I've had about 3 lumps all together. Compare that to the 5-8 I'd have weekly... Big difference.
I haven't really increased my exercise, but just being mindful of what I'm shoving into my face and being on medication for my diabetes seemed to provide a hell of a remission free trial haha.
Carbs are limited to 30g a meal.
No sugar.
Slightly healthier diet.
I'm not sure if metformin or insulin help, but I think it does. My HS has been essentially a non-issue for almost a year now.
Just wanted to share my experience! Go get bloodwork done, maybe you're a surprise diabetic like yours truly lmao!
