"Best magnesium for calm" is really a format question — glycinate vs acetyl-taurate
Been deep in magnesium sourcing and the thing that finally clicked: people argue *form* when the real driver is *format*. Magnesium glycinate is the gentle, cheap, capsule-friendly default and genuinely great for most people who just want calm. But the second you want a gummy, stick-pack, or drink mix, solubility and taste become the constraint. Magnesium acetyl taurate is fat-soluble and highly water-soluble, so it fits those formats better — that's the actual differentiator, not some "it's stronger" claim (I'm not saying that). For plain calm/sleep in a capsule, glycinate still does the job. Whatever you pick: check the *elemental* magnesium, not just the compound weight, and look for a current COA. *(Disclosure: I work with an ingredient supplier, NaturalBestBio — flagging my bias, not linking anything.)*
