HDMI Switch question please

I have 2 PCs sharing a mouse keyboard and monitor, and it generally works well. I can easily switch from one PC to the other with the remote. (Ezcoo Switch HDMI 2x1). However, every now and then, out of the blue, one of the PCs will not recognize my hardware. The red light under the mouse doesn't light. The keyboard is nonresponsive. The other PC is fine. Cables are all tight and secure. This issue is fixable by a hard shutoff (holding the power button in until it turns off) and re-start. But off hand, is there another way to troubleshoot? A way to restart the KVM switch without a hard reboot? thanks !
