Do you think originally Sebastian Stan was set to play Clayface?

Do you think Sebastian Stan was originally being considered for a more grounded version of Clayface in The Batman Part II?

Before all the recent rumors and speculation changed, did anyone else get the impression that Sebastian Stan might have been lined up to play a more realistic, Matt Reeves-style take on Clayface? Something closer to a master of disguise, actor, or serial killer than a giant shape-shifting monster.

Or do you think he was always rumored for a completely different character? I get the impression that may be what caused James Gunn to have to help him move away from using Clayface…
