What does it feel like when you hold your cat during euthanasia?

I have a 16 year old cat. He has stage 2 CKD, he's lost weight, his muscles are wasting away, he vomits a lot, and I can't afford to even make him comfortable anymore. I have to make the appointment soon but im scared. I dont want him to be alone but im afraid of holding him when it hapoens
