Why isn’t there a national hosepipe map?

I really appreciate when there is a heatwave that I can view the red, amber, and yellow alerts on Met Weather for the whole country. I can see if I should check in with friends and family. Why can’t we do this for heatwaves too?

Why do I need to go to my water company and then figure out where on their site they might have the info? Their postcode checker takes me to a map of leaks not hosepipe bans. Even when I google hosepipe ban I get “news” stories that claim to list all the regions with a ban but then they just don’t really. Does anyone else think it’s odd that we’re all doing this so separately? I just don’t get why the one area where we don’t have a unified map is gardening related when that one thing the UK is known for!
