Rep. Rich McCormick's (R-GA) newest filing went public on the House Clerk's site yesterday: 16 trades, all from June 12, worth up to \~$240K combined. He's an ER physician who sits on Armed Services and the Oversight Committee. Two buys deserve a closer look, because the dates are the story.

**Buy 1: $LHX (L3Harris), up to $15K in each of two accounts**

June 4: the Armed Services Committee, McCormick in the room, marks up the FY27 defense bill: $1.15 trillion, full funding for Golden Dome. He sits on the Tactical Air and Land Forces subcommittee, which writes procurement policy for exactly this sector.

June 10: his office publishes a press release taking credit for defense-bill funding for counter-drone systems, small turbine engines, and microelectronics "manufactured in North Georgia."

June 11: L3Harris wins an Army order worth up to $106M for VAMPIRE counter-drone systems. The stock closes up 3% that day.

June 12: McCormick buys $LHX.

The wrinkle that makes it sharper: he SOLD L3Harris on March 19 at around $364, two weeks after its 52-week high. The June 12 buy-back came in around $308, about 15% cheaper. He also cosponsors the GOLDEN DOME Act, and L3Harris builds the missile-tracking satellites in Golden Dome's sensor layer (an $843M award in December).

**Buy 2: $ICE (Intercontinental Exchange, the NYSE parent), up to $15K**

April 1: McCormick joins the House Oversight Committee.

May 22: that committee opens an insider-trading investigation into the prediction markets Polymarket and Kalshi. The chairman says he wants a law banning members of Congress from trading on those platforms.

June 12: McCormick buys $ICE. Intercontinental Exchange has roughly $2B invested in Polymarket and is the exclusive distributor of Polymarket's data to institutions. The buy landed the same day the CFTC's proposed prediction-market rules, the rulebook deciding what platforms like Polymarket can legally offer in the US, were published in the Federal Register.

The fair caveats: every event above was public before he traded. His trades, on the other hand, only became public yesterday, 27 days later. The rows are uniform brackets mirrored across two IRAs, a pattern consistent with a managed model portfolio, though he has never said publicly who directs the trades. And so far the timing hasn't paid: the US-Iran deal hit defense stocks two days after the L3Harris buy (it's down about 6% since), and $ICE is down about 4%.

His disclosure record: OpenSecrets found he filed about two dozen 2023 trades more than two years past the legal deadline, and NOTUS called him "a repeat offender" this April over late T-bill disclosures. This filing was on time.

He took credit for the counter-drone money on a Wednesday. The counter-drone contract landed on Thursday. He bought the counter-drone contractor on Friday.
