Babystep issue

I setup my sunlu S8 a couple years ago with klipper and was having underextrusion issues that I could not figure out the cause so I just gave up on it. The other day I started messing with it again. Updated klipper, fluid, and the mcu. Attempted a couple prints and magically seems like the underextrusion issue was gone but cant get the z offset right. Babystepping does not make any changes at all during the print. Ive done big and small changes and it doesnt change at all. I verified during homing and when not printing that I can move the z axis but it will not work during the print. I also tried entering different z offsets in printer cfg but when I check it after attempting a new print it gets commented out.

Please let me know if Klippy log would be helpful or if you need to see any of my config files. This is my first klipper conversion and everything seems to be working correctly except the babysteps and z offset.
