I’m bad at social cues - is he interested?
After meeting this guy informally, I reached out on social media to ask for his number. He was very sweet and we started chatting over text. I really dislike texting in general and would rather talk in person, because of this I invited him pretty quickly to have a lake day with me. He’s an adventurous guy and accepted- from my perspective it was a great first date (yet that word was never used), we had good conversations and I never felt awkward. I made some efforts of flirting but he was hard to read. That night we continued chatting over text and loosely discussed future meeting plans.
I thought that everything went really well but I can’t tell if he’s actually interested in me. I have invited him to do a few small things throughout the week but we have conflicting schedules, making it a bit difficult. Over text he seems to be showing his personality a bit more (making jokes, more casual) so I was very excited when he invited me to join him for coffee while he was doing some work and I was doing my own thing. He was friendly, but it felt a little awkward. He’s an extraverted person with a lot of friends but sometimes I feel like Im putting in most of the work to get conversations started, from my perspective it felt like he was bored- it didn’t feel like I was talking to the same person I’ve been messaging. I feel like he hasn’t really shown any romantic interest towards me, no flirting or compliments, which is fine because this is VERY new. But I’m worried about being ~too available and overbearing. I just like his personality and want to get to know him.
I’m bad with social cues and am pretty new to the world of dating, so I need some advice- should I back off and see what happens or should I continue initiating conversation/meetups?
