A Christian, celibate gay marriage
I’m a gay man who is also a Christian. I’ve known I was gay for years, and I’ve never had any attraction towards any woman in my life, genuinely. I know that the Bible quite literally preaches against same s3x activity. I want to marry a man (legally) without a traditional marriage ceremony or even really calling it a “marriage.” I would likely call it a legal partnership in order to get the benefits of a legal marriage. I’d still call my man my partner or even my husband, but I wouldn’t consider a marriage since a marriage is considered to be only between a man and a woman. I also do not want to commit gay acts with the man (so I would be celibate with my partner.) In theory, would that be against the bible? I would not be having s3x with the same gender and I would also not break the bounds of a traditional marriage. I also wouldn’t have kids with my partner unless it was adoption. You could argue that every single man is meant to be with a woman and start a family, like it’s a religious “duty.” But, just as some straight people cannot have children due to bodily issues or other things, I would say I fall under that. I did not choose to be gay and that is not something I can change, therefore I can’t really adhere to my religious “duty” to marry a woman and raise kids. I want to be able to live my life freely in an ethical way while also following God’s word. Some of you guys likely have more knowledge than I do, which I will admit is because it’s been difficult to study the Word with people (mostly gay people) telling me in my ear that God hates me that I’m doomed. I would love it if you guys have some of your thoughts. I don’t want any “just be you” or “live your life the way you want” comments because that IS the way I want to live my life. And I am being myself and I am secure and totally fine with the fact that I’m a gay man. But, I also care about my religion and maintaining a healthy relationship with God.
