Our weekend batch-cook haul — and the little app I built so we stop losing food in the freezer

My wife and I do big batch-cook sessions and vacuum-seal most of it for the freezer . It saves us so much time midweek — but we kept hitting the same problem: the freezer turned into a black hole. We'd forget what was in there, miss the window to use something, and end up tossing food we'd spent a whole Sunday making.

Two things fixed it for us:

1. A label on every pack  — name, freeze date, "use within 48h once thawed," and how to cook it, so anyone in the house can just grab it and go.

2. A tracker. I'm a solo dev, so I built a small, free app for exactly this: cook a batch → freeze it → the app remembers what's in there and when to pull it. Move something to the fridge and it starts a 48-hour "use it now" timer; whatever's about to go off floats to the top. Not a recipe app or a big "kitchen OS" — just a freezer / meal-prep tracker.

It's free, no ads — iOS, Android & web: expireless.app

Right now basically only my family uses it, so I'd genuinely love blunt feedback from people who actually prep: what's missing, what's annoying, what you'd never touch. Does the label + tracker combo make sense, or is it overkill?
