Advice Needed

Hello, my coworker is getting married. We have worked together for the past five years and have a decent working relationship. In the past, he used to share a lot of personal things with me, but over the last year and a half—ever since he got engaged—our conversations have become mostly work-related. Because we work rotating shifts, we only overlap for a couple of hours a day rather than spending a full eight-hour shift together.

​He didn't invite anyone from our team to the wedding. However, our team manager wants each of us to contribute $50 to buy him a gift. Because I wasn't invited, I'm hesitant to contribute, but since everyone else on the team is pitching in, I'm not sure what I should do."
