Methyd vs Minj

So I've seen a lot of people call out the show for giving Crystal the 'Ginger edit' and rigging it for her to win. I'm not here to dispute that but what I am finding interesting is HOW fans are talking about it.

When Ginger was winning people treated it like it was her fault, you'd think based on the way people talked she was holding RuPaul and World of Wonder at gunpoint and forcing them to give her a crown. The outpouring of hate she got was crazy long before the post-season drama happened.

Meanwhile this season when Crystal gets this edit the response is far more sympathetic. It's 'Poor Crystal, they're doing her a disservice by forcing a win'. Crystal is somehow a victim of this poor judging, pretty much night and day from the response to Ginger. If Crystal is crowned she'll be celebrated.

The truth is this fandom doesn't actually care that strongly about 'riggory' they only care about it when it goes to a queen they don't like. It's a weapon they can use to bash a queen. You lose all legitimacy in your critiques when you can't be consistent.

Why does Crystal deserve the congeniality but Ginger doesn't?
