Should bridesmaids get a bridal shower gift?
I can see who has purchased off my registry and not 1 of my bridesmaids have gotten anything, and I find it hard to believe they all did something not on the registry. My bridal shower is next week. I don’t expect a lot from them, but was thinking common etiquette would be something, even if it’s just a $15 item. But maybe I’m wrong?
For context: I have 4 bridesmaids and a MOH. I am the first of my friend group to get married. I don’t think my friends have been to many weddings, esp not recently. We are all in our late 20s early 30s. We are doing a bachelorette trip which costed about $400 each to book(I covered myself and my one bridesmaid as a gift (so $800 on my end)due to her struggling. She has money, but it’s tight. Long story.). They are allowed to get their own dresses as long as it’s in my color range so they can stick to their own budgets. I think some have even gotten off of SHEIN. My family is paying for hair & makeup for them. My family is also paying for the bridal shower and all decorations and open bar.
I feel like I’m not expecting a lot, and I’ve expressed I don’t want them to spend a crazy amount for my wedding, but I can’t help but feel hurt if none of them have gotten me even a cheap gift for my shower. I feel like I’ve tried my best to go out of my way to make it easy for everyone to afford by having a lot of the expenses on myself/family. I know not all of them are in great financial situations, again I don’t expect them to gift me $100+ each, I’d be happy with just the gesture of a $15 item. I feel it’s just etiquette to bring ~something~ ya know? Am I wrong? Please share your thoughts c: tysm
